Onehunga Festival

Onehunga - Auckland | April 5th

With their growing reputation for outstanding live performance, young entertainment group Spacifix will have the crowds captivated during the afternoon of a full day of fun.

The community-focused free festival will also feature plenty of local performance groups, on-the-water activities, displays from the Onehunga Fire Department, food and craft stalls and much more.


Westmere School - Little Day Out

Westmere - Auckland | April 5th

Westmere’s Little Day Out promises to be a big day of fun for the whole family with a fantastic line up of big name kiwi bands including The Bads, The Darlings, Steve Abel performing with Gareth Thomas and Geoff Maddock, AD/BC and old favourites Dave McArtney, Jordan Luck and Don McGlashan. There’s also great entertainment for kids and lots of yummy food and beverages.

Auckland Wine & Food Festival

The fifth annual Auckland Wine & Food Festival will take place on the Eastern Viaduct parking area, stretching from the restaurants to the drawbridge of Te Wero Island, on 5-6 April, 2008.

Tahi - Kingsland Art Exhibition

Kingsland - Auckland | April 9th - 13th

Kingsland is an area of Auckland that has a creative charm. Historically home to many artists and students of art, we rarely get to see art in Kingsland – that is about to change! This opportunity has been given to local artists and those with a connection to the area and the interest is very high with over 25 artists applying for space to show their work. All works in the show are for sale.


Real Women's Duathalon Series

Wellington | April 6th

Starting at 8am, the Wellington REAL Women's Duathlon course is absolutely fabulous with spectacular views along both the bike and run courses! Starting from Waitangi Park, the course follows Oriental Parade to the U-turn close to the point at Evans Bay.
Wahine 40th Commemorations

Museum of Wellington | April 10th

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of this maritime tragedy the Museum is offering a significant programme of events. A private room will be available for survivors, rescuers and their families throughout the day.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone who was touched by this disaster.


Fly Fishing Film Festival

Christchurch | April 9th

Now in its third consecutive year the festival promises to deliver more exciting fly fishing adventures from around the globe.

The show runs for a two hour evening session and showcases five fly fishing movies from different filmmakers, including the winner of Fly Shorts this year’s short film competition. The evening offers something for everyone’s taste with movies from New Zealand, Tahiti, Alaska and Florida.

Classic Southern Traverse - Hurunui

Christchurch | April 11th - 13th

The 2008 Classic Southern Traverse will be staged in the Hanmer Springs area on April 11, 12, 13 and will showcase an exciting new format to challenge some of the world’s best adventure racers.

The race begins on April 11 at 9.00am in Hanmer with an estimated eight hours of racing for the fastest teams and 12 hours for the slowest. There is a midnight start on the second day with the fastest teams expected to take 15 hours and the slowest 24 hours. The third day is scheduled to begin at 6.00am and will focus on Rogaine-style orienteering with all teams taking six hours to complete the course.


Dunedin Fringe Festival

Dunedin | Until April 13th

Two weeks of acts from local, national and international artists. Acts range from comedy, dance, theatre and music, to performance, film and visual art.

Dunedin’s Museum Reserve will act as ‘The Hub’ for the duration of the festival. Acts will also take place in venues across the city. Please see programme for more details.

The Dunedin Fringe Festival features over 60 events by 500 performers from throughout New Zealand and abroad.

Fringe is an arts festival which supports experimentation, innovation and new ideas. This festival is an opportunity for performers and artists to showcase their talents, and for the public of Dunedin to enjoy quality entertainment.
