Well, we've reached our final newsletter for the year. And with only days until Christmas, thank heaven for online shopping!
We had our Christmas Party on Friday and a big thanks goes out to the team at Morris & James Pottery & Cafe in Matakana. Seared tuna, slow-roast beef, apple & walnut cake, yum!

The Internet Bureau advises that every Christmas sees an increase in the amount of time and money that Christmas shoppers spend online. This year 49% of internet users in NZ indicated that they will make a purchase online, resulting in a total spend of $437 million!
All Roadworks sites are currently enjoying a big increase in traffic, more searches and heaps of competition entries. In our next newsletter on December 20th we'll be drawing our Big Day Out winners, along with a heap of other lucky winners. Well, summer may be slow starting but the seasonal events and activities aren't. Why not enter the inaugural Paddle The Bays Kayak Race in Auckland this weekend, or take the family along to the Parnell Market Day. And this year's Grey Lynn festival on the 17th promises to be the best yet!
For those of you in the middle of the country, there is Toast Martinborough on the 18th, and Christchurch music lovers can look forward to Southern Amp 07 on November 10th.
Businesses across the country are stocking up for Christmas, so why not do your Christmas shopping early online and save time and money for the 'fun things' of Summer.

Triennial elections for elected members of all local bodies throughout NZ are to be conducted by postal vote on Saturday October 13th. If you haven't received your voting papers, or have questions relating to voting, please visit www.elections.org.nz

Congratulations to Emirates Team NZ and their 5-0 win over Luna Rosa.
The Louis Vuitton Cup trophy arrived in Port America’s Cup on the back of a paraglider before it was presented to the team by Yves Carcelle, the President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Malletier. “Today, we have a fantastic winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup,” Mr. Carcelle said, handing the trophy to skipper Dean Barker and team leader Grant Dalton.Racing now takes a break until the 32nd America's Cup
The next task for Emirates Team New Zealand is facing Alinghi in the 32nd America’s Cup Match. Throughout the four years of Louis Vuitton Acts, the Kiwis and the Alinghi team have sailed 10 matches, with the Emirates squad holding a 6-4 advantage. Last year, the Kiwis won 4 of 5 races. Alinghi is prepared for a tough battle commencing 23 June.
So, its time to catch up on your sleep and prepare for the showdown with Alinghi on June 23rd.
